Getting to know me
Sometimes, you know that something doesn’t feel right, but you can’t quite put your finger on what it is. You feel distressed, anxious, agitated and disconnected from yourself or maybe even your partner, you wondering, “What has happened to me? Why do I keep feeling this way?” When it comes to relationships and intimacy, it can be especially difficult to put these experiences into words or know where to turn for support.
In therapy, we work together to understand what you’re experiencing and what may be the reason behind why you feel this way. Together we explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships at a pace you feel comfortable with. Rather than simply focusing on what is wrong, we work comprehensively on understanding what you need, what may be getting in the way, and how you can feel more connected, confident, and comfortable in yourself and your relationships.
I have worked with couples and individuals, helping them navigate daily stressors, resolve relationship conflicts, manage anxiety, improve intimacy and work through challenges which make everyday life feel difficult. My work is guided by the belief that every person’s experiences are different, and therapy should be a process of understanding what feels right for you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
A little bit about me outside of work: I enjoy the simple things that make everyday life feel a little more enjoyable: good coffee, interesting podcasts, painting, and movies. Something about me is that I work best with a familiar routine but weirdly also enjoy a spontaneous twist once in a while.
If any of this sounds like you, I can help
“My mind won't turn off, and I constantly worry about worst-case scenarios.”
“I always feel on edge and nervous, like something bad is going to happen.”
“I'm functioning, but I don't know how long I can keep pretending I'm okay.”
“We keep having the same exhausting arguments & don't know how to reconnect.”
