What causes vaginismus?
In the body
- Involuntary pelvic-floor tightening
- Pain from past infection or injury
- Hormonal dryness
- Fear of pain or past trauma
Often it's a mix of both, and both sides are treatable. The right tests tell us which it is, so nothing is guesswork.

Common questions
Booking, confidentiality, and what to expect when you visit.
Can I get vaginismus treatment near Richmond Town?
Yes, our clinic near Richmond Town offers gentle, confidential care.
Is a female doctor available?
Yes, you can request a woman doctor.
Is this common, or is it just me?
It's one of the most common concerns walking into every Allo clinic. You'll be far from the first person your doctor has helped with this.
How soon will I see improvement?
Honestly: it depends on the cause, which is exactly why we diagnose first. Most patients notice change within a few weeks of the right treatment, and your doctor will give you a realistic timeline at the first visit.
We're trying for a baby, do you treat infertility?
No, Allo doesn't treat infertility or offer IVF. We treat the sexual-health side, like erection or timing difficulties that can get in the way of conceiving. If your concern is fertility itself, your doctor will guide you to the right specialist.
Will anyone find out I came?
No. Private consultation rooms, discreet billing with no diagnosis named on the receipt, and records that stay with your care team.
